Hall of Fame?

Goose Gossage made it.  Jim Rice and many others didn’t.

The arguments continue to rage about who belongs in the baseball Hall of Fame, but this year’s selection process has made me consider the whole concept of officially determining who are the greatest and most important figures in the history of the sport. 

Why don’t we have Hall of Fames in Britain?  Would sports fans embrace them over here if given the chance?
